"Crossing Borders" – Festival Workshop feat. 48 Hour Film Challenge

The workshop will be run by film teachers Dave Green and John Digance who have run successful academic and creative courses in the University and Community Ed. sectors in Britain, Sweden, Spain, Russia and China.

Dave Green and John Digence: "This year’s workshop will centre on the idea of Crossing Borders. As an antidote to Trump in the US and the UK vote to leave the EU this is your opportunity to make a film challenging isolation and fear. In the open and cosmopolitan city of Berlin we would like to show there is some hope in the world by screening both existing films and your new films about crossing boundaries and barriers, not erecting them. Explore through sound and image the theme of Crossing Borders. Students will watch and discuss short British Experimental Films that are related to the workshop topic – and make, in a day, their own films about crossing borders in Berlin – borders that may be geographical, psychological, physical, abstract, sexual or any you can imagine decide to cross."

All events, meetings and screenings as part of the workshop will be in English. Participants will have to provide their own equipment and editing facilities.
